Exhibiting Competitively

Entering an exhibit is fun and educational and you have a fine chance of winning a ribbon or cash for your efforts. If you think you have grown the best cabbage in Alaska or that your muffins are top notch, come to our State Fair!. All items entered into the Fair must be made, produced or grown by the exhibitor. Entry days are:

All non-perishables Saturday, July 26: Noon until 7PM
Junior perishables Thursday, July 31: Noon until 7 PM
Adult perishables Tuesday, August 5: Noon until 7 PM

The 1997 Exhibitor’s Guide will fill you in on all the entry categories, entry deadlines, and how to enter. They aer available at the Fair Office or at the Exhibit Office after July 7.

Winners receive cash awards, ribbons, and sometimes prizes at the Annual Grand Champion Awards Ceremony on Saturday, August 9 starting at 8 PM.

Exhibits on display include the Quilt Show (narrated every hour on the half hour by members of the Cabin Fever Quilters Guild), cake decorating, hobbies, needlework, aquarium life, recycled items, and of course, giant veggies.
