PolarNet offers a full range of high speed line and domain-hosting services for businesses and power users.
Email Alias
- PolarNet can create an alias to your email account, giving you another email address. There is a one time $15 setup fee for this service.
Extra Email Boxes
- You can have additional email boxes for other members of your family or business. This allows you to have separate mail addresses and boxes, but you are still limited to one dialup connection at a time. This service has a $5 setup fee and a $5 monthly charge.
56K and higher Dedicated Line
- PolarNet can set up a high-speed dedicated line to your home or business. Because costs are dependent on your location, prices are available on request.
Web Site Development
- PolarNet will construct your web site for a flat rate of $50 an hour with a one hour minimum. See our Web Development page for more information about this service.
Domain Name Registration- PolarNet will register your domain name with InterNic. This allows you to get email at your domain-- your email address could be yourpolarnetusername@yourdomainname. This service has a $150 setu
p fee which includes your $100 registration fee to InterNic. Domain names must be unique, so use our whois page to see if the name you want has already been registered. The only valid characters for a domain name are letters, numbers and a hyphen "-". Other special characters like the underscore "_" or an exclamation mark "!" are NOT permitted. A domain name can be up to 26 characters long -- including the 4 characters used to identify the Top Level Domain (.NET, .COM, .ORG, .EDU or .GOV). If you are ready to register a name, please send email to hostmaster@polarnet.com and you will be sent a form to fill out. If you have a dedicated line and a reliable computer you can set up your own web server, or you can take advantage of PolarNet's Virtual Server Hosting or Server Colocation services:
Virtual Server Hosting
- PolarNet will set up a virtual web server for you if you have registered a domain name. This allows you to have a website of your own at http://www.yourdomainname, as well as email addresses with your domain name. This service has a $150 setup fee and a $30 monthly charge.
Virtual Server Hosting includes:
- 10 MB space. Additional space is $5/5mb/month.
- Email forwarding of webmaster@yourdomainname to whatever email box you
want. Additional aliases are $15 setup. If you need extra mail boxes then
they are $5 setup and $5/month.
- Telnet and FTP access to your server. UNIX based CGI support.
Several basic scripts to get you started: Counters,
email from forms, and a couple of others (See www2.polarnet.com/wevdev).
- Web Page Design and Custom Programming Services $50/hour.
- Technical support by email with less than 24 hour turn around time on weekdays, and usually on weekends and holidays too.
- We can have your virtual server set up within 7 days.
Server Colocation
- For high-traffic sites, PolarNet offers Server Colocation services. Call or send email for an estimate.
