Internet connections

PolarNet provides the Fairbanks area with high-speed Internet dial-in and leased-line connections.  PolarNet's 768/1024K Internet connection and over 350 33.6 kbps and 56k dial-up modems provide you with fast Internet access.  Using PPP (Point to Point Pr otocol) you can connect to the Internet with easy to use, graphical user interfaces.  Internet tools supported include electronic mail, World Wide Web, gopher, telnet, newsgroups, mail lists, FTP, IRC, MUD's and others. When you subscribe, we provide you with freeware/shareware to get you started.

Service

PolarNet's local technical support staff can help you access and use Internet resources, guaranteed. If you are unhappy with your PolarNet service for any reason in the first 15 days, let us know and we will gladly refund your monthly fee.  The setup fee, which covers the cost of setting up your account, technical support, and software packet, is nonrefundable.

PolarNet and MUS Telecommunications have teamed up to provide an easy subscription and billing process.  PolarNet fees are included on your monthly MUS telephone bill.

PolarNet offers free accounts to Fairbanks area non-profits.

Internet training

In cooperation with ComputerLand of Fairbanks, PolarNet provides Internet training including free introduction to the Internet classes Friday evenings.  Call ComputerLand at 479-6502 for a current schedule or to reserve a space.

The same Introduction to the Internet class is also presented weekly at lunchtime at Café Latté.  Call PolarNet at 457-4929 or send email to info@polarnet.com for more information or to reserve a space.
